It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 70, it’s important to start investing now because, with the average life expectancy increasing every single year the average “retiree” will need more money to live on when they finally do decide to retire.
Start Investing Now & Make It a Habit
Spending money on entertainment is easy but what about investing? Many people don’t like to invest because, they don’t want to have less money to live off of every month when in reality they are robbing themselves of money they will need in their future.
Let’s say you finally are able to save $5,000. What are you going to do with it? Use that money on a Hawaiian vacation or as a down payment on a new car? Both options are awesome but they won’t be earning any revenue for you ten years down the road. Instead of wasting that $5,000 you should take it and invest that amount into CD’s that pay out an average of 3.44% interest. In 20 years you could have around $50,000 if you continued to re-invest your money back into CD’s.
This is only a small example of what’s possible with investing and but it shows that the long term rewards are greater than any short term loss of cash that you might experience by saving then investing your money.
Think Of Real Goals
Having “just enough” to stay comfortable in your retirement isn’t going to work because living the life that you’re living now requires a set amount of money every month so why wouldn’t you think about the money that you want to be earning in retirement?
If you create real goals then start working toward investing for those goals you will be able to accomplish a lot more with your investments. One goal you can accomplish right now is to study investing and financial modeling in order to improve your long term financial success. You should also be setting short term goals and mid of life goals as well too so you can enjoy a great quality of life at any stage of life.
