When was the last time you treated yourself to a day at the spa? Well you should put down whatever you’re doing and go to your spa immediately; or at the very least once every a couple of months.
Are we caring for skin here?….
Many of the things that our skin needs can be found in foods and vitamins, so it’s no wonder that many of the skin treatments found in today’s spas sound more like dinner than a facial treatment. Sometimes, after hearing what a facial is made up of, I find myself believing that ignorance may well indeed be bliss. Fish oil? Eeeew. Not on my face. And yet it’s one of the best possible sources of omega 6, omega 3 and antioxidants. Tell you what, I’ll just go for seafood tonight.
…Or are we whipping up dessert?
Eggs, cucumbers, chocolate (that’s right, chocolate), wine (more antioxidants), oranges, mangos, lemons and lime juice, bananas, avocados, apricot and apple juice, pineapple, peach skins and good old oxygen are being used more and more at spas for treatments and concoctions made by exotic skin specialists.
And for those of you who need something really different try a gold or gemstone facial. No you do not get to keep any of them for jewelry later.
